Irvin Tames Bats Thursday, May 17th, 2018 Cole Irvin of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs spun his magic on the Louisville Bats today. He blanked them 6-0 on 3 hits, registering 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Irvin said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Lehigh Valley skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Cole pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. To date this season Irvin has compiled a 5-1 record with a 2.88 ERA in 8 starts. |
