Big Day for Fernandez: Swats 6 Hits Monday, June 4th, 2018 6 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Columbus's Jose Miguel Fernandez made it happen today against the Express. Everything came together at the plate for the 30-year-old second baseman as he collected 6 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Clippers to a 15-1 win at Dell Diamond. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Fernandez said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Jose Miguel Fernandez singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Shawaryn in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Fernandez has batted at a .274 pace with 57 hits, 8 home runs, 38 RBIs and scored 21 times. |
