Streak Finally Over, Bell Held Hitless
Saturday, June 30th, 2018
The Gwinnett Stripers did something to Alexeis Bell no team had done for the last 20 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Isotopes, who came away with the 10-8 victory at Coolray Field.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 34-year-old right fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
Bell on the season is batting .326 with 7 home runs. His totals include 27 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has played in 44 games.
