Pawtucket-Omaha Brawl, Hannemann and Smith Suspended
Thursday, August 9th, 2018
If there wasn't a history between Jacob Hannemann of Pawtucket and Josh Smith of Omaha, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.

"We're both really competitive," Hannemann said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."

In this current campaign Hannemann is hitting at a .243 clip with 13 home runs and 55 RBIs.

Smith has made 16 starts so far this year and put up a 8-3 won-lost record with a 3.72 ERA. In 82.1 innings he has allowed 79 hits, walked 25 and struck out 70.
