Mercado Raps Tulsa for 5 Hits Sunday, June 3rd, 2018 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Oscar Mercado is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Tulsa Drillers at NYSEG Stadium today. The monster effort from the 23-year-old center fielder helped the Binghamton Rumble Ponies take the win, 10-9. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Drillers manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Oscar Mercado singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season Mercado has 2 home runs and a .313 batting average. |
