AC Player of the Week, Johnson of Montgomery Monday, June 25th, 2018 After all of Kelly Johnson's years in baseball, some have suggested -- albeit very delicately -- that he should think about calling it quits. But the "mature adult," as he calls himself, showed last week that he's still capable of keeping up with the youngsters. The 36-year-old Montgomery first baseman was honored today as the American Conference Player of the Week. He fended off all comers by posting a .429 average with 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs. To date this year Johnson is batting .331 with 13 home runs. |
