He easily handled BayBears pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the RoughRiders to a 14-4 triumph at Hank Aaron Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Cardona's quip, BayBears skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." Jose Cardona walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Brock Dykxhoorn in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this year Cardona is hitting .340 with 9 home runs, 71 RBIs and 71 runs scored. |
