The future looks extremely bright for Josh Ockimey. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in A.

Ockimey has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the National Conference Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .382 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.

The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes star also put up a .521 on-base percentage this year, with 176 hits, 48 doubles, 4 triples, 19 home runs, 104 RBIs and 108 runs scored.

He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 30. Brendan McKay of the Lancaster JetHawks finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Jason Martin of the Palm Beach Cardinals finished third with 1 first place vote.
