Smith Ups Hit Streak to 25 Consecutive Games Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 With 1 hit at Banner Island Ballpark today, Isaiah Smith added another game to his hitting streak -- the Stockton center fielder has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Ports today, as they fell, 13-7, to the Wilmington Blue Rocks. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Wilmington manager said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Isaiah Smith grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Heath Fillmyer in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. Smith is batting at a .426 pace this season, picking up 46 hits in 108 at-bats with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
