Baz Goes 5-for-6 Against Daytona Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 Shane Baz exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Myrtle Beach starting pitcher had a field day in the 11-4 triumph over the Daytona Tortugas, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Baz must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Shane Baz hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. This year Baz has compiled a 1-4 mark with a 2.68 ERA. |
