Carlson Tags Pelicans for 5 Hits Monday, July 16th, 2018 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Mudcats's Dylan Carlson at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark today. Carlson put up a 5-for-7 line against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 6-5 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Carlson said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Dylan Carlson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th. For the year Carlson is batting .288 with 97 hits and 6 home runs. He has scored 48 times and driven in 39. |
