Clement Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, August 4th, 2018 Ernie Clement exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Harry Grove Stadium. The Down East second baseman had a field day in the 14-9 triumph over the Frederick Keys, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Clement must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Ernie Clement singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. For the year Clement has hit .343 with 3 home runs, 38 RBIs and scored 73 runs. |
