Ray Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games
Monday, August 13th, 2018
With 1 hit at San Jose Municipal Stadium today, Corey Ray added another game to his hitting streak -- the Palm Beach center fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Cardinals today, as they fell, 4-3, to the San Jose Giants.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," San Jose manager said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Corey Ray struck out in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
This year Ray is hitting at a .292 pace with 1 home run and 12 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 15 times.
