Mata Earns August's Best Pitcher Honor Saturday, September 1st, 2018 In August, Bryan Mata tore through the American Conference like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 19 years old. The young Stockton starter posted a 6-0 mark and an ERA of 1.14 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 39.1 innings he collected 38 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .211 average. So far this season, Mata has logged a 17-3 record with a 2.82 ERA. He has started 23 games, hurled 137.1 innings and registered 122 strikeouts and 20 walks. |
