Winaker Goes 5-for-5 Sunday, September 9th, 2018 It was a parade of hits for Matt Winaker of the Palm Beach Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium today. Connecting with regularity, Winaker finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but the Mets rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 9-7 win. "Winaker was really good, we were just a little better," said Mets manager in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, as long as we win." Matt Winaker hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. Presently Winaker is batting .288 with 11 home runs and 87 RBIs. He has played in 131 games and scored 83 times. |
