Diamondbacks Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks grabbed a 6-1 win over the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field. Arizona center fielder Raimel Tapia went 3-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times to earn player of the game honors. Freddy Peralta got the win, improving to 5-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The second-place Diamondbacks have won 4 consecutive games.
The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from catcher Francisco Mejia. For the game, Mejia was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season gave Arizona a 3-0 lead.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Mejia.
