Giants Fall to .500 After Loss to Braves
|
The Atlanta Braves picked up a win at AT&T Park, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 7-2. Starting pitcher Brent Suter was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Suter, now 2-4. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. The 'W' lifts Atlanta's record to 20-30.
It could have been a different outcome for Atlanta, had it not been for Pat Valaika, the 26-year old second baseman . Valaika contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Atlanta up, 2-1.
Suter told a Atlanta Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
