The Cincinnati Reds downed the Chicago Cubs, 6-2, at Wrigley Field. Joey Gallo led the way, going 2-for-3 for Cincinnati. Justus Sheffield got the win, improving to 4-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Cincinnati is second in the National League Central Division with a record of 28-24.

Brian McCann had a big 2-run single for the Reds in the top of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Masahiro Tanaka and stroked the single to center. It was his 15th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reds ahead, 3-0.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said McCann.
