Ciuffo Helps Rockies Run Win Streak to 5
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks were able to complete their ballgame.
The Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-6, at Coors Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Nick Ciuffo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The save was credited to Adam Conley, his 1st.
Jake Bauers put Colorado in front, 9-2, when he took Raynel Espinal downtown. His grand slam home run came with two out in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 15th home run of the season.
"I believe in our guys," said Colorado skipper Rex Shuck. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The Rockies, at 24-32, have now won 5 straight.
