Brent Suter never let Detroit get something going. The Atlanta left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Braves to a 2-1 win. Michael Lorenzen earned the save for Atlanta, his 3rd of the year. The last-place Braves have won 4 straight.

With no one out in the bottom of the third, Ben Gamel hit a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 35th hit of the season and with it the Braves took a 2-1 lead.
