White Sox Come Up Short at Washington
|
The Washington Nationals defeated the Chicago White Sox, 3-2, in National League action at Nationals Park, with Washington pitcher Michael Wacha named player of the game. Washington reliever Adam Morgan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jared Miller was saddled with the loss. The Nationals bumped their record to 34-26 with this latest triumph.
Washington right fielder Jose Pirela contributed to the cause with a single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Pirela was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Washington manager Maurice Hamilton.
