Pirates Bang Out 9-0 Win Versus Atlanta
Pittsburgh got an elite performance from starting pitcher Steven Matz in taking a 9-0 decision over the Atlanta Braves. The Pirates, at 25-35, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.

With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Matz hit a slider from Brent Suter for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 2-0.

"I know we have our doubters," said Atlanta manager Tyler Rumpel. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
