Yankees Get One-Run Win at Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Indians got a superb performance from third baseman Matt Chapman, but the New York Yankees still won the game, 6-5. Chapman was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jacob Webb converted his 1st save in 1 tries. New York is now 31-33, while Cleveland is 39-23.
Eloy Jimenez made an early impact for New York when he stroked his 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came with two out in the top of the first, put the Yankees on top, 2-0.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Jimenez told reporters after the game.
