Orioles Win Another One
|
The Baltimore Orioles extended their winning streak at Minute Maid Park.
Houston got a terrific game from shortstop Jermaine Palacios. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Baltimore, 12-6. Palacios was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Baltimore starter Danny Duffy was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-3.
Baltimore used the timely hitting of Asdrubal Cabrera to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This team is real focused right now," said Baltimore manager Eric S.
The last-place Astros have dropped 4 straight games.
