Giants Win Thriller, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Giants racked up a win at AT&T Park, bumping off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3. Anthony DeSclafani, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. Carlos Alejandro Ramirez, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The Giants raised their record to 29-36.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Carlos Gonzalez came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Los Angeles pitcher Jacob Barnes, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 4-3.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Jesse Vansickle, the San Francisco skipper. "This one tested us."
