Rockies Continue Skid Thanks to Lowe, Cubs
|
The Chicago Cubs stopped the Colorado Rockies, 12-4, behind an impressive performance from Brandon Lowe. The 24-year old second baseman made life miserable for Colorado pitching. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Dennis Santana, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 6.1 innings. Colorado is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Chicago relied on the hitting of Cody Bellinger to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cubs on top, 7-3. For the game, Bellinger had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Chicago skipper Garrett Hansford.
