Dahl 5-for-8 Against Pittsburgh
|
David Dahl told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Dahl of the Miami Marlins did against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went to the plate 8 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 4-3 defeat.
"Not much I can say," offered Dahl in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?"
David Dahl grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and grounded out in the 16th.
Dahl is presently batting .278 with 10 home runs, 37 runs scored and 25 RBIs. His OBP is .319.
