Victory Pushes Phillies Record to 56-41
|
The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder David Peralta, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Emmanuel Ramirez earned the win to go to 5-4. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Kenley Jansen earned his 30th save in 34 chances.
With Philadelphia leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Peralta hit a fastball from Chris Archer for a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 3-0.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Peralta told the Philadelphia Today. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
The Phillies raised their record to 56-41.
