Brewers Lose, 4-1, at Chase Field
|
It was a good time at Chase Field, where fans came to watch the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks get after it.
The inspired effort of Milwaukee left fielder Tommy Pham was not enough to prevent a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Pham was 2 for 4 with a home run. Arizona reliever Dillon Tate picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Matt Moore was saddled with the loss. Riley Ferrell notched his 21st save in 24 chances.
The Diamondbacks got a lift from right fielder Alex Verdugo, who in the bottom of the fifth stroked a first pitch changeup into right for a run-scoring single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Milwaukee skipper David Mendel, "and it cost us."
The Diamondbacks move to 48-52 with the win, while the Brewers drop to 65-36.
