Extra-Inning Win by Orioles over Diamondbacks
|
Tim Beckham had a good game, but he could not keep the Arizona Diamondbacks from falling, 15-9, to the Baltimore Orioles at Chase Field. The Arizona third baseman was 3-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 in the loss. The win was credited to Pedro Strop in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Jhoulys Chacin took the loss. The first-place Orioles now have a 4-game winning streak.
Baltimore used the clutch hitting of Dexter Fowler to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Orioles the lead, 12-9. For the game, Fowler had 1 single and 1 double in 6 at-bats.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Baltimore manager Eric S.
