Phillies Lose to Reds, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies played a tight game at Great American Ball Park, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
Cincinnati beat Philadelphia on the strength of starter Felix Hernandez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. In 7 innings, Hernandez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
Jarrod Dyson, who leads the NL in stolen bases with 31, aided the Cincinnati cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the center fielder was 1-3, while adding 2 RBI.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Dyson said.
