Nationals Edge Past Dodgers, 7-6
|
The Washington Nationals topped the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-6, with center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. playing a big role. Bradley Jr. was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Nationals in the win. Washington reliever Michael Wacha picked up the win, upping his record to 6-12. Cody Allen was saddled with the loss. The 4th-place Nationals have won 5 straight.
Bradley Jr. came through for Washington with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. He hit a 1-0 fastball to right-center field, staking his team to a 7-6 lead.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Maurice Hamilton.
