Multi-HR Day for Frazier as Phillies Overpower Giants, 6-3
|
The Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, at Citizens Bank Park. Todd Frazier, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Philadelphia won. The third baseman went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Alex Claudio, credited with the save, is now 4 for 7 in save opportunities. The first-place Phillies have won 6 consecutive games.
Philadelphia took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Frazier hit a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season made the score 6-3, Philadelphia.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Frazier told reporters after the game.
