Getting a good performance from shortstop Elvis Andrus, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners, 6-4. Andrus was 4-5 with 4 singles for the Blue Jays. Toronto reliever Jake Diekman picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Ryan Williams took the loss.
The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from right fielder Andrew McCutchen. For the game, McCutchen went 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 36th double of the season gave Toronto a 6-4 lead.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Andrus.
