Blue Jays Lose to Orioles, 6-3
|
2019 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Baltimore Orioles topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-3, in American League action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The player of the game was Baltimore pitcher and San Diego, California native Cole Hamels. Justin Wilson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 14 save opportunities.
The Orioles got an important contribution from second baseman Daniel Murphy, who in the bottom of the fifth knocked a 0-2 curveball into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 4-0.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Toronto manager Ryan Hicks.
The first-place Orioles have won 5 in a row.
