Pirates Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Brewers
|
The Milwaukee Brewers got a superb performance from pitcher Jon Gray, but the Pittsburgh Pirates still won the game, 4-2. Gray was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The Pirates now have a mark of 47-66.
The Pirates scored in the bottom of the eighth when Robinson Chirinos hit a solo home run to make the score 3-2, Pittsburgh.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Chirinos told the Pittsburgh Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
