Marlins Stun Mets, 5-2
|
Getting an impressive start from Julio Urias, Miami beat New York by the score of 5-2. Blake Treinen got the save, his 31st in 31 chances. Miami, at 65-47, occupies second place in the National League East Division.
Miami needed the clutch hitting of Francisco Lindor to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Marlins on top, 4-2. For the game, Lindor had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Miami manager Pat Padula.
