Rangers Win at Cleveland, 7-2
|
The Cleveland Indians went down to defeat to Yonny Chirinos and his Texas teammates. The final score was 7-2 in favor of the Rangers. The first-place Rangers, at 70-45, now lead their division by 2½ games.
Texas used the bat of Andrelton Simmons to capture the win. The shortstop jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Texas manager Eric Ferraro.
