Victory Pushes Indians Record to 70-45
|
2019 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Minnesota Twins.
The exploits of catcher Mitch Garver helped the Cleveland Indians defeat the Minnesota Twins, 6-2. Garver was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Tyler Skaggs earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Cleveland used the clutch hitting of Adam Frazier to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Indians the lead, 3-2. For the game, Frazier had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Frazier told the Cleveland Daily News.
Cleveland goes to 70-45. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
