Athletics Solve White Sox, 5-3
|
Oakland Athletics starter Jerad Eickhoff was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Chicago White Sox, 5-3. Eickhoff picked up the win for Oakland, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 9-6. Aaron Bummer, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Oakland, had it not been for Eduardo Escobar, the 30-year old third baseman . Escobar contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Oakland up, 2-1.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Eickhoff.
The win puts the Athletics at 56-62, while the White Sox drop to 57-59.
