The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies, 8-0, at Coors Field. Arizona second baseman Gleyber Torres was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Jhoulys Chacin got the win, improving to 6-9. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. The Diamondbacks saw their record improve to 53-68.

Momentum swung to the Diamondbacks in the top of the ninth, when Torres, who is tied for 6th in the NL in home runs with 30, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Diamondbacks into the lead, 8-0.
