Peralta Delivers Walk-Off Win for Phillies
|
The Phillies had to overcome a fine performance from San Diego pitcher German Marquez to grab a 4-2 win at Citizens Bank Park. Marquez allowed 2 earned runs over 5.1 innings. Reliever Jamie Callahan picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Cam Bedrosian took the loss. Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder David Peralta came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing San Diego pitcher Cam Bedrosian, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run home run. It was a game-changer, putting Philadelphia on top, 4-2.
"It's good to win," Peralta told the Philadelphia Today. "I like to have fun doing it."
