McCutchen Slugs Orioles to 6-3 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from Andrew McCutchen, who finished 5th in the NL in slugging percentage with .508 in 2013, helped the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox, 6-3. Cole Hamels earned the win to go to 3-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Baltimore goes to 71-51. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
McCutchen hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice against the Red Sox. With the game tied in the top of the fourth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Baltimore in front, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," McCutchen said after the game.
