Indians Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus New York
|
Cleveland and New York met at Yankee Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
The Cleveland Indians picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 7-3. Starting pitcher Max Scherzer, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Scherzer got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Scherzer allowed no earned runs.
A key at-bat came in the top of the third inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Adam Frazier, reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Cleveland, and helped them go on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Scherzer said after the game.
Cleveland goes to 77-47. The win puts them 10½ games up in their division.
