The Texas Rangers eked out a 9-8 win versus the Minnesota Twins at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Nobody did more than catcher Wilson Ramos, who captured player of the game honors. Texas reliever Tim Mayza picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Joe Kelly shouldered the loss. Texas improves to 75-50 with the win. They lead their division by 2½ games.

Helping the Texas cause was Luis Guillorme. In the bottom of the eighth, the slick-fielding shortstop had a run-scoring sacrifice fly to make the score 9-8, Rangers.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ramos told the Texas Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
