Yankees Stun Athletics, 4-3
|
The Yankees had to overcome a fine performance from Oakland pitcher Jerad Eickhoff to grab a 4-3 win at Oakland Coliseum. Eickhoff allowed 1 earned run over 6 innings. The winner was New York reliever Josh Hader, now 5-4. The loser was Aaron Bummer. The Yankees now have a mark of 68-61.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, New York center fielder Tony Kemp hit a 2-run single, helping his team get the win.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Kemp.
