The Cleveland Indians used an offensive barrage to beat the Kansas City Royals, 15-2, at Progressive Field. Stephen Vogt led the way, going 2-for-5 for Cleveland. Anibal Sanchez, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held Kansas City to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Cleveland is now 81-50, 11 games up in the American League Central Division.

Vogt put Cleveland up, 15-1, when he hit a 3-run home run off Mark Montgomery in the bottom of the sixth. His 11th home run of the season helped the Indians capture the win.
