The Detroit Tigers topped the Cleveland Indians, 8-7, in American League action at Comerica Park. The player of the game was Detroit right fielder George Springer. The third-place Tigers have won 4 straight games.

Springer had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-2 cutter from David Robertson, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Tigers a 8-7 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Springer.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Springer said.
