Victory Pushes Rangers Record to 81-55
|
Texas and Seattle duked it out at Globe Life Park in Arlington and the Rangers came out victorious.
The inspired effort of Seattle designated hitter Matt Kemp was not enough to prevent a 6-3 loss to the Texas Rangers. Kemp was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Alex Wood picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 10-7. Will Harris notched his 33rd save in 36 chances.
Wilson Ramos had a big run-scoring single for the Rangers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Texas leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Alex Wilson and stroked the single to center. It was his 106th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 4-2.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ramos told the Texas Daily News.
The first-place Rangers have a one-game lead in their division.
