Zimmerman Helps Pirates Run Win Streak to 3
|
2019 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Colorado Rockies.
Ryan Zimmerman left his imprint on the 10-8 Pittsburgh win against the Colorado Rockies. Zimmerman, who is a two-time All-Star, was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Seranthony Dominguez got the save, his 15th in 17 chances.
Zimmerman had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 changeup from Rafael De Paula, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Pirates a 10-8 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Zimmerman.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Zimmerman told the Pittsburgh Gazette.
Pittsburgh has 3 straight wins, Colorado 3 straight losses.
